Ubuntu Linux
Well, after few days configuring my new home server with Ubuntu Linux, it's a time to... give it up! Why?
Pro:
Fast! <- Talk about desktop performance, Ubuntu is really good in term of efficiency.
Innovative installation <- well, if u say Windows XP is easy, then Ubuntu is for your grand pa, just put the cd in and that's it.
Package management system <- apt do EVERYTHING for you with some clicks! Better than FreeBSD's port system; no need to buy "lo faan" or bit torrent.
Con:
Not as solid as many other system. <- I expect better security by default.
No "root" <- he has no "root"!! I don't like it!
Some final words, Ubuntu is a good OS, and there are spaces to improve... But what I am looking for is a rock solid *nix, so far, Ubuntu can only use as a desktop for me.
Next, I am going to try Novell openSUSE.
